LA Wine Wicks
Living the Life of a Rock star usually involves burning the candle at both ends in a fast paced stressful world...but this time we have been enjoying a little zen and burning this cool recycled wine bottle to a relaxing end.
We love the clean burning soy wax and the fabulous fragrance options LA Wine Wicks offers. We chose Grapefruit--a fan favorite--as a tester and are soaking in every bit of the yummy scent! The candle burns slowly for hours at a time, barely lowering the wax level.
The ingenius wine bottle candles by Dominique Simon can be special ordered with custom labels, or a special bottle of wine you have enjoyed and saved can be turned into a candle by sending it to LA Wine Wicks. LA Wine Wicks specializes in creating custom labels for special events like weddings. Photos, names and special dates can all be included on the custom label.
And all those fabulous bottles you toast with and share with your friends can now be rescued from the recycle bin and filled with your favorite fragrance instead commemorating fun times and life long memories.
Candle prices range between the two sizes offered. The short candle (pictured above) sells for $18.00 and the tall candle sells for $20.00. Discounts are offered on orders with quantities of 12 or more. (Champagne bottles can also be used.)
These recycled wine bottle candles make a perfect hostess gift for all those summer bbq’s and pool parties popping up on your calendar!
Their website www.lawineaccessories.com is very user friendly and filled with creative and fun gift ideas! LA Wine Wicks’ candles are sold at Casa Dumetz Tasting Room in Los Alamos, owned by Emilio Estevez and Sonja Magdefski. Dominique Simon has been making these candles for about a year now. Initially, Dominique and her husband Marc created the wine accessory website to sell wine inspired gifts that they both liked. Then, Dominque says, “I had made candles for a previous bath and body business and actually saw a candle in a wine bottle online and I loved the idea of recycling the bottles. The labels are art and I thought other people would love the idea of having their favorite wine, sake or liquor bottle made into a candle. So, we decided to make them ourselves.”
