Whether you are planning a romantic day with your special someone or a fun filled girl's spa day party as I recently did for a group of over twenty girlfriends, this fabulous spa suite at the Four Seasons Westlake Village is a relaxing luxurious spot to whittle away the hours.
From the moment you walk in the scent of relaxation hits you. Then the soothing voices of the receptionists bring your stress level down a notch. No one is shouting, honking or making you want to pull out your hair. The kids are tucked away safely at school and the responsibility of time evaporates. The hot towel you have been handed to wipe your hands feels like a magic worry eraser. As you sign your name to the check in sheet your over-active mind begins to quiet.
A gentle touch to your back as a spa coordinator walks you to your locker and you realize how hyper aware you are of this gentle sensation now that all of the chaos has been turned off--or left at home--and your inner Zen is taking over.
Once inside the spa at the Four Seasons Westlake Village you can choose to be as ambitious or--as I prefer--subdued as you please. Available amenities include a gym, a heated indoor pool which is great for swimming laps or napping in a humidity controlled environment, a sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, poolside dining, a co-ed relaxation room, and a quiet room adorned in orchids. The endless treatment possibilities range from waxings to aroma transformations and of course include variations of massages. My hands down favorite being their Signature Kate facial.
Back inside the spa suite (which must be booked seperately and reserved in advance), a soothing fireplace separates a room with two treatment tables and an oversized soaking whirlpool tub--large enough for at least two--from a serene room with an oversized daybed lounge where friends can chat. (Treatments can also be done privately in the regular massage rooms for those who prefer.)
A private "Swiss" shower that has a separate entrance from the dipping pool off the private patio is stocked with amenities such as razors, soaps and shower caps. There are also stacks of fresh soft towels and a few lush robes hanging nearby you that can curl up into.
The spa suite also has a private bathroom, (full of spa necessities such as hair ties), as well as a storage closet making the luxurious spa suite completely self-contained. You and your guests will not need to head back to the larger locker room/ladie's lounge in the main building of the spa for any of the basics. Read More...

With fitness and well-being the thematic premise of the hotel, every effort is made to present organic and healthy cuisine. In addition, nutrition conscious hands-on cooking classes are taught weekly. The Four Seasons Westlake Village is a truly family friendly hotel that offers both a kids club and a fun teen center. The indoor heated pool is open year round where children can swim. The hotel's outdoor pool is restricted to adults. Oversized cabanas--for adults only--are available, making this a desirable destination for a celebration. Pet friendly.

Comments: The Island Hotel is the perfect escape for a weekend getaway. There is great shopping at nearby Fashion Island and the hotel neighbors Pelican Hill Golf Course. Aesthetically furnished, this resort is family friendly but might be more fun without the lovely youngsters. The super comfy beds make packing up to leave oh-so-difficult.

Comments: Unparalleled concierge service. Friendly staff always on hand with a formal pleasant greeting that never get old. There is no better place to be than on their club level on a rainy day. Very accommodating with food allergies and special requests.
While you are there: It's all about the Lobby Lounge. Enjoy a yummy snack or cocktail while taking in the spectacular decor. (The chandeliers are breathtaking.) Comments: Amelia Island is a charming town where time stands still. The Ritz Carlton is family oriented resort with fantastic pool that brandishes an ocean view. While there are many ways to entertain the whole family, the resort does offer a enjoyable teen center with a movie theatre so parents can escape for an evening to dine alone.
