It all started when I saw a post about an underground underwear subway party. I couldn't believe that mommy bloggers everywhere weren't invited! I started running my sarcastic commentary on Twitter. (See party footage on YouTube.) We could have rocked that underwear party! C'mon, you know Mommy Bloggers take things to a whole new level. Think Project X. We don't stop until everybody's talkin' bout it. News coverage, flame throwers, fireworks...we ARE the party.

In my red Betsey Johnson dress that screamed Sex in the City, I ran out the door of my hotel suite silently praising myself for having perfected the art of running in five inch stiletto heels.
As per usual, I was greeted by the W's friendly doormen who had taken me under their wing--eyeing with suspicion any man who dared look my way. Those sweet observational boys kept tabs on all my comings and goings, knew approximately how long I was gone--down to the minutes--and had cars and taxis waiting to whisk me away as if they could read my mind.

With this fabulous summer weather, many of us in Los Angeles want to get outside of the enclosed shopping areas to enjoy the open air malls. While there are many to choose from, (South Coast Plaza, Hollywood & Highland, and Santa Monica Place aka 3rd Street Promenade to name a few), don't rule out the fun of Venice Beach.
Aside from the gorgeous ocean as the backdrop, there is fun people watching, yummy snacks and a variety of merchandise within everyone's budget.
Handmade bracelets, painted ceramic skulls, seasonal dresses, kitschy tees and sweatshirts, more hats than one can dream up, luggage, trendy fabric purses and sunglasses in every shape and color can all be found along the Venice Beach ocean walk.
Stores range in pricing, (don't assume one store will be inexpensive because it is backed up to another that is practically giving things away). Venice Beach shopping offers an ecclectic mixture of some higher end clothing and accessories paired next to fun steals at baragain prices.
The best part is, no one goes away bored. From henna tattoos to live impromptu street performances this is shopping you can bring the whole family to enjoy.
