Interview with the Band
August 15, 2012
By Nicole Hanratty
The Cold Summer "Wake" EP was released on iTunes August 6th, 2012 (which you can also listen to at the Cold Summer website). Play it through and you'll hear what I heard when I first listened. Something special is going with this post hardcore band. The music they are writing compels you to move in rhythm with the beat, their lyrics are full of thoughtful prose and yet this England based band has given a different voice to post hardcore punk. Interview with Singer / Songwriter Mike Rosenberg of Passenger on his new album "All The Little Lights" and his Concert Tour with Ed Sheeran
by Nicole Hanratty
Passenger opens for the Ed Sheeran concert on tour throughout the U.S., and while Mike Rosenberg--the singer songwriter of Passenger music--is by no means new to the music scene, his sound is now being heard and discovered by the masses, and they are loving what they hear. Currently #20 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter chart, “Let Her Go” is set to be Passenger’s breakout hit. (See “Let Her Go” on LOARS Love Songs playlist.)
[“Let Her Go” song lyrics: “Only know you’ve been high when you’re feeling low, only hate the road when you’re missing home. Only know you love her when you let her go… And you let her go.”]
Passenger’s rock music has a folk twist and without question is a sound we love that is somewhat akin to Mumford & Sons. Life of a Rock Star™ was excited to spend some time chatting with Mike and learning more about the newest sensation from the U.K.
