The concerts to promote UN Peace Day began three years ago through a joint venture between the United Nations and Listen for Life, which was founded in 1998 as a global family of music listeners, performers, and producers, "restoring music as a unifying force for good worldwide". . There have been prior Listen for Life concerts to commemorate U.N. Peace Day in the U.S., Bosnia, Croatia, Kenya, and the U.K.  This year's Peace Day, on September 21st, found Listen for Life launching its SoCal series with a 4- hour Musicfest that was filmed/broadcast live worldwide, to tremendous acclaim. Now the performers are very excited for the next events in Hollywood (September 27) and at the Ramona Bowl in Hemet (September 29th).

“We are launching the all-star global concert tour in the Los Angeles area because of its music industry roots, and the springboard the area has offered to many legendary performers who believe music can bridge global discord,” said
Donna Stoering, Founder of Listen for Life.

International recording artists from India, China, Vietnam, Latin America, Ireland and the Mid-East are among those scheduled to perform at the Hollywood concert, including Oscar, Emmy and Grammy award winners. Coming from nine world cultures/countries, they will play 17 different instruments unique to their region. “The way these instruments come together in harmony is the way we hope to unite musicians from around the globe in the spirit of world peace,” said Stoering.

REVIEWS:
NY Press review of Listen for Life Carnegie Hall concert, January 2012: "This was an unforgettable night of music and unity - Listen for Life is a movement, not just a concert!

Michelle Anton, former head producer of Oprah: “Listen for Life….is a feast for the eyes, ears and the heart. Thank you for being a conduit for transformation and elevation of the human spirit. We need this now more than ever. You are to music what Mother Teresa of Calcutta was to the poor, sick, orphaned and dying”.

Life of a Rock Star™ has been bubbling over with excitement to bring you
Lemuria. Cold Summer turned us on to this Indie / Post-Punk / Pop talented band. After downloading Lemuria’s “Pebble” album on iTunes we were so hooked we grabbed one on vinyl as well. W-O-W. That’s when we knew we had to interview the talent behind the sound. We sent over some questions via email for the band members to answer, and we have to admit, a couple of their answers made us laugh. (Hot Freaks.) READ LEMURIA ALBUM PEBBLE IS A PLEASER
