ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
“The series, curated by Def Leppard’s lead guitarist Phil Collen, will reveal a chain of never-before-seen snapshots, photographed in the courtroom at the 1985 Parents’ Music Resource Center (PMRC) senate hearings by Weiss, who was one of the only behind-the-scenes photographers present during the trial. It is because of this historic verdict that warning labels now adorn albums that include explicit lyrics; this is also the inspiration for the rock musical and motion picture, “Rock of Ages.”
Collen is the latest individual, hand-selected by Rock Paper Photo to serve as an esteemed guest curator; he joins the ranks of Kelly Osbourne, Guy Oseary, John Varvatos, Danny Masterson and journalist Rachel Felder.”
Collen will unveil the exhibit, which features images of musical icons targeted by the PMRC, including his own band mates, Twisted Sister, Bon Jovi, Lita Ford, Journey, Whitesnake and Joan Jett, as well as the vibrant scene in Washington during the events.”
