Matchbox Twenty’s newest album “North” is that album you’ll be listening to for years to come and remembering how good these songs made you feel.

“She’s So Mean” is Life of a Rock Star’s™ standout hands down singing it on full blast favorite on the album. “She’s a hot hot mess…” Lyrics don’t get better than that Winking “All her clothes are on the floor and all your records are scratched. She’s like a one way ticket ‘cause you can’t come back!”

But we can’t deny that “Our Song” is also a game winner. “This can be our song…I’ll never make you cry again, I’m gonna set things right again…” is already finding itself on repeat on our playlist. The dance pop beat is reminiscent of your favorite 80’s song and yet so current in its alternative sound. We are definitely clapping along!

Matchbox Twenty “Our Song” video:

“Sleeping at The Wheel” has a country feel as it opens and a rougher voice is an attention grabber. “I could be anything but for the faults that I’ve acquired on my way.” This song slows down the pace and beckons us to believe that “we can be saved.” It’s a beautiful ballad and wake up call harking a carpe diem cry.

Life of a Rock Star™ Highlight:
“Overjoyed” is heartfelt and that feel good song that we love to hear from Matchbox Twenty. “I will tell you secrets…I can’t overstate it, I will be overjoyed.” This song will melt every girl’s heart. Rob Thomas’s voice delivers this song as a gift to every guy who needs to win over the girl of his dreams. Stick it on a mix tape boys and you’ve got a home run… AND don’t even get us started on “I Will.” (We’ll be talking about that one more soon!)

“Radio” has that Billy Joel old school rock music feel to it and is something we’re sure you will be saying “we heard it on the radio!”

A band out of London, Mumford & Sons formed itself organically in 2007. One sound built upon another as band members worked together to realize the full potential of their songs. Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall, and Ted Dwane came together to form a sound that music lovers adore. READ MUMFORD & SONS “I WILL WAIT”

SONG OF THE WEEK
Switchfoot Hello Hurricane Always
Song of the Week
September 13, 2012
“Always” by Switchfoot
Feat. in the iPhone 5 promo video

Switchfoot, the rock band out of San Diego, California has always been a band that inspires greatness. Their songs are more like mission statements so it was no surprise to Life of a Rock Star™ that Apple launched the iPhone 5 yesterday using the Switchfoot song “Always” off the album “Hello Hurricane” in the promotional release iPhone 5 video. Because we are equally excited for both the arrival of the iPhone 5 and Switchfoot to play LA, we could not think of a more perfect song to carry us through the week, and we dedicate this Song of the Week to those starting anew. Rebirth can be painful, push through. Read
