Michele Clark’s Sunset Sessions, a music industry convention and talent showcase, is coming to The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV from November 8-10, 2012. This is the first time in Sunset Sessions’ 15-year history that it will be open to the general public. The event is a key opportunity for musicians and industry power players alike, introducing record labels, radio station programmers, music supervisors, managers, agents and others to emerging and established artists. The convention has been influential in the careers of numerous newer artists, including the Black Keys, Ryan Adams, Fun, Sia, James Blunt, Zac Browne Band, Grace Potter and Jason Mraz. Marquee names like Stevie Nicks, Richie Sambora, Lucinda Williams, Jewel, Third Eye Blind and Wayne Coyne also have participated in the event.
The Sunset Sessions main stage will be held at the Boulevard Pool and will feature 20 to 30 rising artists. The lineup thus far includes Duncan Sheik, Susanna Hoffs, Steve Earle, Alpha Rev, Lit, Courrier, Doris, Faulkner, Angels Landing, Feral Vinca, Laura Warshauer, Brooke Palsson, Michael Fitzgerald, Slater, Stellar Corpses, The NowhereNauts, Tora, Cheating Daylight, and Elliot Root, with many more to be announced soon.
November’s Sunset Sessions Vegas at The Cosmopolitan will be the 18th event in 15 years and for the first time ever, the Main Stage shows will be open to the public to benefit charities all over the world (of the ARTISTS choices)! CBS’s Las Vegas Radio stations 94.1 The Mix and 107.5 KXTE will host the entire event. Other great radio stations across the country will also send winners to participate in this New Music Adventure and bring awareness to the charities each artist designates.
Although the event is available to the public, tickets cannot be purchased. The Cosmopolitan said, instead, event-goers can secure tickets by committing their time or money to one of several nonprofit organizations, including Communities in Schools of Nevada, Three Square, Opportunity Village MusiCares and many more to be announced!
