Special thanks to our host and hostess, Silver Loop sponsors and philanthropic friends of Lupus LA’s 2012 Orange Ball, Stacey and Gary Uberstine for hosting us. The Lupus Orange Ball 2012 is a fantastic charity fundraising event.

This year the 2012 Daniel J. Wallace Founder’s Award went to Soram Singh Khalsa, M.D., aka “Dr. Soram.” Dr. Soram was praised in a note from President Obama, “I trust that you will take pride in your contributions, and I hope your service moves others to serve as well.”
What is Lupus?
A chronic autoimmune disease of unknown origin.
“In simple terms, lupus erythmatosus develops when the body becomes allergic to itself. Immunologically speaking, it is the opposite of what takes place in cancer or AIDS. In lupus, the body overreacts to an unknown stimulus and makes too many antibodies or proteins directed against the body tissue.”
--Daniel J. Wallace, M.D.
