This is the must-have album of the year. P!nk has hit a home-run with this album. Run don’t walk to your nearest iTunes download source and grab Pink’s “The Truth About Love” tonight.

Her voice is so clean and expressive, she nails this entire album. “Beam Me Up” is a gorgeous ballad that will have you hooked on the album by the second song. “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” was Life of a Rock Star™ Song of the Week August 30th and has only continued to race up the charts since then.

“How Come You’re Not Here” will rock your playlist and her raspy voice shows P!nk’s massive vocal range. “Slut Like You” will make you laugh with the funny opening line, “I’m not a slut, I just love love!” The “True Love” lyrics are so fantastic and somewhat spoken that we can’t help but be addicted to the song after just one listen. “The Truth About Love” is a funky new retro-like sound from Pink with an echoed effect that let’s us know that the truth about love is that it’s “blood and it’s guts” and ”it can turn you into a son-of-a-bitch.” (Well, ain’t that the truth!)

Album favorite: “The Great Escape” is a tear-jerker if you have half of a heart. Written to address the society we’ve become that is addicted to treating pain with pills rather than dealing with emotions and pain, the song hits a chord and brings the reality of life to the forefront. “The passion and the pain are gonna keep you alive some day…”

SONG OF THE WEEK:
Switchfoot Hello Hurricane Always
Song of the Week
September 13, 2012
“Always” by Switchfoot
Feat. in the iPhone 5 promo video

Switchfoot, the rock band out of San Diego, California has always been a band that inspires greatness. Their songs are more like mission statements so it was no surprise to Life of a Rock Star™ that Apple launched the iPhone 5 yesterday using the Switchfoot song “Always” off the album “Hello Hurricane” in the promotional release iPhone 5 video. Because we are equally excited for both the arrival of the iPhone 5 and Switchfoot to play LA, we could not think of a more perfect song to carry us through the week, and we dedicate this Song of the Week to those starting anew. Rebirth can be painful, push through. Read
