Smoke & Jackal “No Tell” on iTunes

Released August 28th, “No Tell” is Life of a Rock Star’s new obsession. Smoke and Jackal is a side project of Jared Followill from
Kings of Leon, who reportedly needed something to keep himself occupied while his band was on a break from touring, and Nick Brown from Mona. With a very alternative rock sound this song’s disturbing lyrics and mesmerizing vocals keep you listening time and again.

Preorders start today for the
Smoke & Jackal EP No. 1 on iTunes. Expected release date is October 16, 2012. It is an album to watch. Based on “No Tell” this side project looks to go far.

“No Tell” Lyrics via
SongMeanings.com:

She's lying through her teeth
I bet he's proud of his daughter
The way she's looking at me
Here we go

She's down on her knees
She gonna throw away her father
Now she's lying beneath
Here we go

She said "I only came to give some head"
She making messes in my bed
We're going down in the motel no tell
I guess she really came to give some head
Now the sheets are red
We're going down in the motel

She can barely get it out
Saying "I've never done this,
Can we slow down?"
There she goes

I'll take the blame
'Cause I've never done this
With someone so young
There she goes

She said "I only came to give some head"
She making messes in my bed
We're going down in the motel no tell
I guess she really came to give some head
Now the sheets are red
We're going down in the motel no tell

She's lying through her teeth
I bet he's proud of his daughter
The way she's looking at me
Here we go

She said "I only came to give some head"
She making messes in my bed
We're going down in the motel no tell
I guess she really came to give some head
Now the sheets are red
We're going down in the motel no tell

We’re hoping Kings of Leon restocks on The Early Vinyl (currently sold out) which “features the band's first three albums on gatefold double LP, plus a single bonus LP with rare content, contained in a beautiful, numbered lift-off box. The set also includes a 20-page book featuring liner notes by Austin Scaggs along with rare art and photos from the band’s early years.”

SONG OF THE WEEK:
Switchfoot Hello Hurricane Always
Song of the Week
September 13, 2012
“Always” by Switchfoot
Feat. in the iPhone 5 promo video

Switchfoot, the rock band out of San Diego, California has always been a band that inspires greatness. Their songs are more like mission statements so it was no surprise to Life of a Rock Star™ that Apple launched the iPhone 5 yesterday using the Switchfoot song “Always” off the album “Hello Hurricane” in the promotional release iPhone 5 video. Because we are equally excited for both the arrival of the iPhone 5 and Switchfoot to play LA, we could not think of a more perfect song to carry us through the week, and we dedicate this Song of the Week to those starting anew. Rebirth can be painful, push through. Read
